About Hopeful Cries

This story was inspired by a song I fell asleep listening to one late night whilst thinking about a new story idea. I had a very vivid dream that is partially incorporated into the story but the real inspiration was the idea of having a strong dream like I had that night. The song is a very strong and emotional song which leaves the listener with no doubt as to how the singer felt about the song. Since the song title is a spoiler I will give its info at the bottom of this section with a spoiler warning.

The book's title is also derived from the song. The funny part about that is that the song is a rock ballad and one of the lines just hit me. The actual line is: "Blank stares and hopeful prayers" but I heard: "Blank stares and hopeful cries"

I got alot of material for the story from my own life and the lives of my friends at the time. Since I was a teenager at the time, alot of those "teen themes" are prevalent in the book. Hopefully, this makes it more believable and if not to some people, then they are going to have to accept that the feelings were pretty stinking real to me and my friends when we lived through them.
